Delivery glasses
Amazon · 2025 in development
A small display built into glasses for Amazon delivery drivers. Green text in one eye shows the next address and the next step. A driver with both hands full of parcels does not have to stop and look at a phone.
The display sits in front of one eye. I designed the light path from the projector to that eye, from April to July 2025. A tiny MicroLED projector makes the image, in green only. A waveguide carries that light through the lens and turns it out towards the eye. A set of custom lenses sits around it.
Two things were hard. Making it small and light enough to wear all day. And fitting different people: eyes sit at different distances apart, and plenty of people need a prescription, so the optics have to work across a range of faces and a range of eyesight. Going from one eye to two is harder again, because the two images have to line up.
Amazon announced the product on 22 October 2025.
