About

My family is Bangladeshi. I was born in South Africa, and I have lived in Canada, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh. Now I live in California. I have family on three continents.

I studied mechatronics engineering at the University of Waterloo. After I graduated I washed dishes for money. Then Apple called.

I worked at Apple for nearly five years, on the product design team for Vision Pro, from the first prototypes to mass production. I am named on twenty-four granted patents from that work, twenty-one of them in the US. Most of them cover head-mounted display hardware. The work itself is confidential.

After Apple, I built a basketball passing machine at Hoopfit, worked on the optics for Amazon’s delivery driver glasses, started noble. crafters to make metal pens and a leather notebook, and co-founded Blue, which went through Y Combinator in 2025.

I applied to Y Combinator twelve times. Eleven applications were rejected.

Humility is what leads to the greatest inventions.

Faith

I am Muslim. The phrase at the bottom of every page is about ihsan:

Ahsin. Innahu yara. Do it well. He sees.

To me it means doing the parts of a job nobody sees as well as the parts people do see.

Writing

I write poems and essays. I write most of them by hand first. On YouTube I read other people’s poems aloud on a channel called Poetic License. I am writing a novel. I have also written a long essay about going back to Dhaka after eight years away.

Now

September 2026. I run hardware at Blue. I take on a few consulting projects.
