The curb cut effect

I recently learned about the “Curb Cut Effect.” In the 1970s, people fought for wheelchair ramps. They poured concrete themselves since the government wouldn’t. People in wheelchairs could finally get around, but many others benefited as well. Parents with strollers, travelers with luggage, workers with carts. When you care enough to solve for one person’s friction, you often solve for many.
